Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Universal Technical Institute.
Instructor
It was a really easy and smooth process. The people were down to earth and there wasn't a lot of pressure. They are looking for skilled people to join a great team. Communication was awesome and clear, and I didn’t feel an overwhelming sense of judgment.
- Could you state your years of experience?
Instructor
The president recruited me. He didn't interview me, but two other people did. One of them seemed uncomfortable with me, which I felt was because I'm a woman. That was a red flag.
- Describe a time you dealt with an unhappy customer.
Instructor
You'll be teaching a class of 30 kids by yourself, and if anything goes wrong, it's on you. They'll try to make it sound like a really rewarding job, you'll probably hear a lot about how you'll 'change lives'.
