Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Universal Orlando Resort.
Server
I had a phone interview that lasted about 30 minutes. After they asked me some questions, I got offered the job. They asked me about my location preferences and then offered me either food runner or server roles based on my answers.
- Can you tell me about common wine pairings?
Cashier
It was a really easy interview. They hired me on the spot! Everyone was super nice and they were really open to hiring people who knew more than one language. They explained what I'd be doing at the venue and let me pick which location I wanted from the options they gave me.
- Can you describe how you'd manage a challenging customer interaction?
Line Cook
I guess I'm the only one who got the rudest HR member out of the bunch. She was not nice... she did not smile... she was condescending the entire time and then told me I did not have enough experience to be a Line Cook (even though I had plenty of experience). she told me I would be going for one job, and when I had my second interview I was completely lost... because it was for a position completely unrelated! Luckily, I was quick enough to save myself a job and embarrassment.
- Can you share your best Guest Service experience?
- What makes you a good fit for Universal?
