Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Univar Solutions.
Intern
I had two interviews. The first was with the manager and HR, and other candidates were there too. Both HR and the manager asked questions (technical ones). The second interview was with the team, more personal, to see if you fit with that specific team.
- Tell me about your housing situation.
- What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
- Are you familiar with our company?
Intern
The selection process was fine, but in the end they only chose 3 people. They said they wanted an intern who would stay for at least 2 years, even though the job description said 2 to 1 year until college graduation. If they had told me upfront that I couldn't apply for the position, I wouldn't have gone and spent so much money on bus, train, and Uber.
- Tell me about your personal details, education, and previous experience.
Intern
The interview went very well. The interviewer seemed genuinely interested in me and my experience, asking clear, open-ended questions that let me talk about my skills. It felt welcoming and professional, making it easy to talk and making the conversation nice. I left feeling good about the company and excited about maybe working with the team.
- Tell me about your previous experiences.
