My interview experience was focused on React and JavaScript fundamentals. We covered things like component lifecycle methods, hooks such as useState and useEffect, event handling, and promises. There was also an easy DSA problem that involved arrays and basic logic.

I had a phone interview with a recruiter, and then an on-site interview with 3 engineers. The interview covered standard questions about React and hooks. There was some disagreement about using Redux without Thunk, even after I explained how it's done with custom hooks and a data access layer. It seemed like two engineers were more focused on showing off their knowledge than having a productive conversation.

  • Did you use Thunk with Redux?

I spoke with a recruiter first, then did a technical screen which I passed. After that, I had a phone interview with two senior developers and their manager. I didn't perform my best because I was really nervous, but I think I did okay. They said I'd hear back the same afternoon, but it's been over two weeks with no word, not even an email. While I get they might not want to proceed, it's super rude not to say anything. The interview was average difficulty, but some questions caught me off guard, probably because I'm rusty. They ask candidates to prepare for company culture, history, and values, but none of that came up in either conversation.
