Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at United Way.
Associate
I’ve been involved in the interview process with UW for 3 months. They were quick to schedule an initial interview, it took over 3 weeks to schedule a group interview, and I have not received any significant updates since then. Just that they are still conducting other interviews and my candidacy is still in consideration. Hiring managers- do better.
- What makes you want to work at UW?
Lead Associate
I applied online because I got a referral from someone who works there. They got back to me really fast to set up a phone interview. I did the phone screen and then heard back in about a week to set up a panel interview over Skype.
- Can you describe your best boss?
- Can you describe your worst boss?
Development Associate
So first, I had an initial chat over the phone with HR, just a basic screening. Then, I was invited back for a final in-person interview. This was with a panel, like the VP, the manager, and the HR Generalist. They asked me a bunch of questions and also wanted me to do a 3-5 minute presentation, which they mentioned in the first call. After the presentation, we wrapped up with a few more questions, and I got to ask them some things too.
- What is your spirit animal?
