First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at United Technologies.
Senior Software Engineer
I went through an interview process with Det-Tronics. It started with a phone interview and then moved to a half-day, multi-round on-site interview. The kicker was they only told me the date for the in-person interview the day before, so I had to scramble to get time off work. The interview itself seemed to go pretty well, but after that, radio silence. Nobody contacted me at all. No offer, no rejection, not even an automated email. I have no idea if they even hired someone or if they just scrapped the position. It was surprisingly unprofessional and a letdown.
- Can you share an instance of dealing with a dissatisfied customer and how you resolved it?
Applications Developer
I first had a phone interview with my vendor to check my technical skills. Then, two days later, I got an email for a phone interview with united. Since it was a contract job, I guess that's why I didn't have to go in person.
- Can you tell me where session values can be stored?
- In an MVC framework, how would you encrypt values before action methods run?
Applications Developer
I applied for an Applications Developer role through a consultancy in Hyderabad, specifically for a WPF requirement. The first round consisted of basic .Net questions, which I answered well. I then inquired about the WPF aspect, and the interviewer mentioned she'd redirect me to the WPF team. After a 15-minute wait, someone informed me the WPF team wasn't available and the interview would be rescheduled. I left without hearing back about the WPF role. I've been checking with the consultancy and UTC's HR, but they say it's on hold. I'm looking for a decision, positive or negative, rather than this indefinite hold.
- Basic .Net questions were asked.
- Questions regarding the WPF requirement were asked.
