Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at United Technologies.
Mechanical Engineer
I had just one interview over the phone. An engineering manager reached out via email to set up a time. After an initial screening by HR, I got my resume reviewed. On the day of the interview, the manager asked me about my previous work, my future aspirations, and pretty much covered everything on my resume. It wasn't too difficult overall.
- Questions were straightforward, focusing on what's on your resume; they might dig deeper if you overstate things.
Senior Mechanical Engineer
It was a telephone interview first, then an in-person interview. They asked about my experience, education, and past work. Everything matched the job well. It was pretty standard, nothing too out of the ordinary for a company process. UTC just pays really well.
- Can you tell me what you know about UTC?
Mechanical Engineer
I spoke with three engineering managers simultaneously. They mostly asked questions referencing my resume, like 'what is a major challenge you learned in this project?'. The whole thing took about 45 minutes.
- What was a major challenge you learned in this X project?
