I only got as far as the phone screen and the first interview. They said they'd let me know about my status either way, but I haven't heard anything. It's frustrating when employers ghost you after saying they'll be in touch. Shows a lack of professionalism.

I had a Zoom interview with a recruiter from a temp agency for a temp-to-perm role. It was pretty straightforward, about 20-30 minutes. They asked typical questions like to describe myself as a salesperson and my strengths. The recruiter said they'd recommend me for the next step, which was a Zoom call with my direct manager. A day or two later, I had that interview. It was similar to the first one, and I got to ask some questions. The manager was really friendly and a good listener. Before the call ended, she messaged her boss to recommend me, and I was set up for a third Zoom interview with them the next day. All three interviewers were really nice, enthusiastic, asked fair questions, and gave honest, thoughtful answers to my questions.

Behavioral Presentation Case

I met the hiring manager and a team lead at a hotel bar. They were doing staff training there and asked me to meet them after. I didn't have to do much selling myself. The hiring manager talked a lot, and I mostly listened and showed empathy. Then, I flew from California to Chicago to interview with the VP of Sales. After that, he sent me to Southern California to meet a branch manager who didn't actually want the position filled. I had to persuade him that I could make his branch successful.

Confirmed questions5 questions
  • The biggest challenge was trying to win over this branch manager who didn't want a call center involved in his local operations. I basically just flew to his city and had lunch with him. I listened to him boast about himself and complain about the rest of the company, and he told me he didn't want me messing with his operation. I just had to nod and agree. It was pretty weird.
  • How would you handle a branch manager who is resistant to having a call center involved in their operations?
  • How would you convince a branch manager who doesn't want the position filled that you can help their branch succeed?
