The interview process was really smooth! It kicked off with a phone screen where they asked about my background, some basic technical questions about C++, and also project and behavioral questions. Then, I had a panel interview with some engineers, which was mostly behavioral questions for about an hour.

I applied online and heard back from HR about a week later. We chatted about my skills and what the job needed. Then, I had a phone interview with the hiring manager a week after that. We talked about the job, the company, and my resume. He was interested in having me come to Denver for an onsite interview, so they emailed me the next week to set it up. The onsite was cool. After meeting the hiring manager, I met with other engineers who worked on different parts of the project. The conversations were technical, but there were only two coding challenges, and they were pretty easy. They also gave me a tour of their labs and control rooms, showing me rocket components. I was supposed to meet with the ground launch systems team, but one person couldn't make it, so I ended up talking with some engineers who build internal web tools instead. A lot of the questions weren't technical. They asked standard open-ended questions like 'where do you see yourself in 5 years?' and 'Tell me about a time you had a conflict in your group and how you handled it.' Just have stories ready for your past jobs or school projects. I met with the hiring manager again at the end to discuss what we were both looking for, upcoming projects, and timelines. Since I met with two teams, he asked which one I'd prefer. Overall, it was a good experience, and I got a good impression of the company and teams. They reimbursed travel and food quickly. A few days later, I got a job offer via phone and email. I declined because we decided not to move to Denver.
