The United Airlines interview was quite an experience. First, I had to do an AI video interview where I answered questions to a screen, no actual person involved. If that went well, the next step was a one-on-one interview. I met with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in SeaTac. The conversation felt really positive with lots of head nodding, smiling, and a warm vibe that seemed like genuine interest. I left feeling like I'd found the perfect fit. With over ten years of management experience in aviation, I figured my background would be enough. But, there was no rejection email or call, no follow-up at all. I ended up having to check my application portal to see that I was "not selected", almost like an afterthought. After more than ten years in aviation leadership, United apparently thought I wasn't qualified.

After you submit your application online, they'll get back to you in about a month or two to schedule an in-person interview. The interview will be at the nearest hub, and you'll be talking with two interviewers. In my experience, everyone was super friendly.
