I sent my application via Naukri.com and was contacted by an HR representative who set up a weekend drive. I wasn't able to make it, but the HR team was accommodating and rescheduled for a weekday. All the interview rounds were completed in a single day. The first round involved a written test where I had to create a Technical Design, Logical data model, identify design patterns, and explain how to use aggregation, association, and composition in the design, based on a given requirement. This was followed by a round where I explained my design to the technical manager, which went smoothly. He then questioned me on EJB, Spring, Hibernate, Pl/sql, and Java program logic. The third round was with a senior manager who asked about EJB, Spring MVC, and IOC in depth, and also inquired about my current project and responsibilities. He then discussed their project domain, the required technical skills, and the role I would be assigned. The final round was with the product head, who seemed impressed and provided information about the project domain, work culture at Unisys, and office location. The next day, HR contacted me regarding CTC and notice period, and I received the offer letter within a week, with an impressive salary.
- Could you provide the Technical Design Model for a Bus Reservation System?
- What types of EJBs have you worked with?
- What are the disadvantages of using Hibernate?

So, the interview process started with an online aptitude round which had some technical questions, verbal aptitude, and an essay. Then, there were 2 technical interviews. In these, I had to write an algorithm for a problem, which was then reviewed. The interviews were quite straightforward. However, since there was no HR round, it wasn't entirely clear what position I was interviewing for. There's also an 18-month bond for INR 100,000. I'd advise clarifying the exact position and any other conditions like the bond before you interview, as there's a possibility of being hired even if you're not fully aligned with the role.
- Can you discuss your past projects?

The interview process started with a presentation about the company and a pre-placement talk, where HR executives shared insights about the company, the work, and the job profile. Next, there was an online test with 100 marks, covering C/C++ or Java/.Net (50 marks), DS and Algorithms (30 marks), and Debugging and Code Analysis (20 marks). This was followed by an English test, similar to TOEFL but with an audio component. Then, a Communication test round assessed general communication skills. The fifth phase was a 1:1 Technical Interview with questions of average difficulty. Finally, the last round was a video conference interview with the Director, aimed at evaluating candidates' outlook, passion, and motivation.
- What makes you want to join our company?
- In your opinion, is it better to closely monitor market competitors and aim to outperform them, or is it more beneficial to focus on innovation?
