I had a phone interview first, then a second round with three interviews in Omaha. They paid for me to fly out there for a weekend. I interviewed with the head of human resources, car facilities, and locomotive facilities. The car facilities interview was pretty relaxed, but the locomotive interview felt like an intense interrogation about my management skills.

Union Pacific Railroad gave me a great opportunity. They seemed to have a great group of people and a good employee culture. The sectors of the business varied enormously and the management of all levels of the company seemed a monumental task, although accomplished quite thoroughly. The interview was formal and a good experience at large corporation operation as I was nearly a new college grad.

I initially spoke with a recruiter at a campus job fair. Following that, I was invited to a company presentation and then signed up for a one-on-one interview after the presentation and dinner. I felt the interview went well and was quickly scheduled for an onsite interview. However, three days before the onsite, I received a call stating they were canceling all remaining onsite interviews. The recruiter was vague about the reasons. It seems several other students had a similar experience.
