I applied for a few jobs hoping to advance my career but didn't have much luck. I finally got an interview for one opening, and it seemed to go pretty well. I felt pretty comfortable and didn't struggle with any of the questions. It honestly felt like they had already picked someone before the interviews even started, and this whole process was just a formality to avoid any equal opportunity issues. The job description even had some specific details that hinted at who they were going to hire. I'm not a psychic, but I'm usually spot on when it comes to predicting who gets internal roles in my department.

I applied online and a phone interview happened about two weeks later. Then, an in-person interview in Omaha happened about a week after that. About a week after that, I got the job offer. Before this, I had never taken a personality test for a job interview. There is a long personality test and also a critical thinking test for manager skills. Both tests are pretty quick to complete, and it's just a pass/fail, you don't see results. They are looking for specific personality traits, but I don't know exactly what they are.

It was a panel interview and the questions were not that hard. The interviewers were nice and professional. The company paid for my travel and gave me a gift certificate for other travel expenses.
