The interview process had 3 turns: a phone screen with HR, a call with the hiring manager, and an onsite with the team. The HR part was okay in that they gave good info, but they were very slow to respond, sometimes telling me the interview time the day before. They also switched contacts a few times and set up the wrong time until the day before. The team members were really nice and knowledgeable, which gave me high expectations. The whole process felt pretty easy because the hiring manager focused more on potential and personality rather than technical skills, screening based on my resume. After meeting with a few managers on the team, I felt good initially and got feedback right after the interview. They asked about my authorization to work, and it turned out I couldn't work for them, even though I am legally authorized. They couldn't accept it. I followed up a few days later, and they told me I wasn't suitable. The HR called me about this, which I appreciated. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience because everyone, especially the team, was nice. But honestly, if you're not a GC or citizen, don't waste your time. It's not about you or the company being bad, but they don't have what's needed for you to work there, and they won't offer you the job because of it. Don't think you can just get in first; it's not that simple.
