Passenger Service Agent
I applied online and they called me for an appointment the same day. The interview was the next day. They didn't give me a job offer on the spot. I don't know what happens next or if they'll even call or email me back. They left me in the dark and didn't tell me when to expect to hear anything.
- Can you tell me about your general interview experiences?
- Describe a time you dealt with a difficult customer.
Passenger Service Agent
The hiring manager will give you a call to set up a quick chat. She'll look over your resume, ask about what you can do, and then tell you about the job, how long the contract is, the benefits, and so on. After that, she'll set up a second meeting with the airline's manager. If they think you're a good fit, you'll hear back from them in about 5 to 10 days.
- Can you share your customer service background?
- Are you open to working different shifts if needed?
- Would you be available to work overtime when necessary?
Passenger Service Agent
After submitting my resume to Delta Airlines, I was contacted via email within an hour with an offer for a Hirevue video interview. I first visited the Hirevue website to learn how the interview worked and looked for user experiences. I found Glassdoor reviews and other interview experiences very helpful. My top tip is to prepare your answers to common interview questions as much as you need to. A simple Google search is a good place to start. Hirevue is user-friendly. I used the Hirevue app on my iPhone, but it works just as well on a tablet or computer. I didn't dislike this interview format as much as I expected; it was actually quite pleasant. You can do as many practice interviews as you like, which I highly recommend for building confidence. I can't emphasize enough the importance of treating this like a face-to-face interview – dress in business attire. Some reviews mentioned four questions, but I had six, none of which were difficult. Preparation is key. You can take as much time as you want between questions, but remember you only have 30 seconds to formulate your answer before the clock starts, and then you have a two-minute limit to respond.
- What makes you a good candidate for this role, and what skills do you possess for this job?
- Describe a situation where you encountered a challenging, unhappy, or distressed customer. What was the scenario, your actions, and the outcome?
- Provide an instance of a situation involving high stress and pressure. Detail your response and how it was resolved.
