The interview process included a screening call, an interview with the managers, and a task presentation/interview. The people were friendly and transparent throughout the process, with clear steps at every moment. The interviews were not tricky, and I enjoyed my experience with the hiring process at UNiDAYS.
- What makes you interested in working for our company?
- Can you share some personal details about yourself?
- What valuable skills do you possess that aren't evident on your CV or from your professional background?
Software Engineer
The interview process began with a pleasant screening call with the HR rep. The conversation was comfortable and informative. She first provided an overview of the company and its work culture, followed by a few basic technical questions to understand my background. Overall, the discussion was smooth and helped set clear expectations for the next steps in the process.
- Can you explain how to determine if an email address is unique, along with related inquiries?
Copywriter
The interviews themselves were straightforward and professional, but the time it took to get feedback/updates on the next steps was not acceptable. I’ve applied for two roles for this company and trying to get feedback/updates on next steps was so anxiety-inducing. This was due to the fact that the talent acquisition person I spoke to went on annual leave both times I made it past the first interview. Everyone deserves leave and this is absolutely fine, but she should have told her other TA colleague that I was awaiting feedback as I had to wait a nail-biting 2 weeks both times to hear something back following my second interview. This was after chasing numerous times and even messaging one of the interviewers personally on LinkedIn, who also didn’t get back to me. I’ve been searching for a job for nearly 6 months now so any updates/feedback from a company regarding the next steps is absolutely crucial to my mental health. I felt as though I was being ignored and it really knocked my confidence. The other reason for the delay was because other staff members were off on annual leave or ill, and while that's absolutely fine, there should have been at least an update on the situation i.e. a simple email explaining the reason for the radio silence. I'm a very patient person, however there’s no excuse for having to wait that long.
- Can you share an instance where you exceeded expectations for a stakeholder?
- In your opinion, what constitutes great copy?
Sales
Really disappointing experience after such high expectations. Had the initial call with the recruiter who sped through questions and couldn’t answer my one question ‘can you tell me more about the role’. I was told the manager would be able to provide this in the interview and to ask more questions then. I was moved to the next stage interview there and then but was told I need to interview ASAP as there was another candidate and so was scheduled the next day. Next day had the interview and the first thing that was said to me was ‘I have interviews all day, we need to be quick’. This immediately set the tone for the interview and made me feel uncomfortable and in hindsight was a major red flag. First q asked was to tell the manager what I thought the role would be. Whilst I agree it’s definitely good practice to prepare info on the company I was totally taken back as I was told by the recruiter this same question that I had would be explained to me in depth in the interview. Whilst I managed to answer with accuracy , it was clear my answer wasn’t sufficient enough and I could just tell from their reaction the outcome of the interview was sealed right there. The whole vibe of the interview felt really interrogative and although there were elements of connection with the interviewer, these were quickly cut short. Overall I didn’t feel I could answer questions authentically as I was more concerned about getting it ‘right’ than just being myself.
