Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UNFPA.
Intern
I was invited for a written test, then an oral interview happened about 2 weeks later. Everything was virtual via Zoom. The written test had questions about sexual reproductive health, and then there was a competency-based interview about my experience and skills.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- Why are you interested in this internship?
- What skills do you possess that would be beneficial for this role?
Intern
The interview usually lasts about 30 minutes. The questions are pretty easy, but it's a good idea to get ready to talk about your strengths and why you're a good fit for the internship. Also, be prepared to discuss your education, experience, personal projects, and volunteer work.
- Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about who you are?
- What makes you believe you're a suitable candidate for this internship?
- What is your understanding of UNFPA?
Intern
I applied online and after about a month, I was invited for an in-person interview with the hiring manager. They extended an offer about a week later and wanted me to start as soon as possible. The whole experience was pretty straightforward and I had a good time during the interview. Both the HR representative and the hiring manager were super friendly and made me feel really comfortable.
- What motivates your interest in joining UNFPA?
