First, there was a chat with HR. Then, I had to do an assignment with two big problem statements: one was about launching a new category, and the other was about expanding internationally. After that, I had the interview, where we first talked about my assignment, and then they asked me some behavioural questions to understand my strengths and weaknesses.

Behavioral

A recruiter from Unacademy reached out to me. The job posting said Bangalore, but the HR mentioned it was work from anywhere, so I agreed to proceed. Before scheduling the first round, the same HR contacted me for a quick call to discuss a few points. This was a phone chat, which I accepted. However, the salary offered was much lower than I expected, and it involved working 6 days a week (with Mondays off) from 10 am to 7 pm. I politely declined to move forward. I could tell the recruiter wasn't happy with my decision and started pushing me to still take the first round. She emphasized a few things: 1) Work from home is a 'privilege' given by Unacademy (which made me wonder if employees would be constantly reminded of this - seems more like a standard offering than a privilege). 2) It's a day shift (even though she called me at 8:30 pm, which is outside typical working hours). 3) Each role has a fixed budget that can't be negotiated. Even after I reiterated my decision to withdraw my application, the recruiter seemed confused and displeased, repeating the same three points. When she finally understood I wasn't interested, she ended the call abruptly without any closing remarks.
