This was the longest and worst interview process I've ever experienced. I applied on November 17th, and my first interview wasn't until Christmas Eve. I didn't hear back until the third week of January. It felt really unprofessional, like they weren't serious about filling the Credit Analyst role, especially since it's still posted even after I was told they found someone. It was a waste of my time. Also, one of the interview times I had scheduled, the interviewer didn't even show up.

I interviewed at the downtown office and met with the regional CEO, a few relationship managers, and my direct report at the time. HR was involved throughout the process, coordinating the meeting times with everyone.

Applied online and then a recruiter reached out to set up a phone interview. This initial call was pretty standard, asking things like why I wanted to join UMB, how I fit the role, and my long-term career goals. About a week later, I got another call to schedule an in-person interview. This involved meeting with three people I would have reported to. My direct supervisor explained the job duties and daily tasks. Then, I met with the other two managers together. They asked common interview questions like discussing a mistake I made or going over my resume. They also described the ideal candidate profile for the role. The next step, if I had moved forward, would have been a panel interview focused on technical skills such as accounting and credit knowledge. I didn't proceed past the interviews I completed. The interviewers were professional, and I didn't feel like they were unhappy with my performance. My only complaint was waiting about a month for an automated rejection email.
