Marketing Analyst
We had a first chat with the hiring manager about the role and my background. Then, the hiring manager and two team members talked with me. They asked about my experience and also focused on whether I'd be a good fit for the team's personality.
- Can you share your experience?
Mechanical Engineer
It started with a quick 20-minute phone screen covering job duties, salary expectations, and such. After that, there's usually a 1-1.5 hour interview, either in person or via Teams, where you meet the team, see the workplace, get to ask questions, and they check your technical knowledge. For the top candidates, there's a final lunch interview to see if you're a good social fit. It's really relaxed and pretty light conversation. Then they'll extend an offer.
- Can you explain what a stress-strain curve is?
- What is Young's modulus?
- Do you know anything about injection molding, or have you worked with it before?
Territory Account Manager
The first interview went great, but I didn't get the job. Even though the job description said sales experience wasn't required, they were looking for candidates with formal sales experience. After about 6 months, the hiring manager encouraged me to reapply for a different territory. She was great to talk to and we really clicked. She mentioned I was her second choice the first time around, but she went with someone who had more dental sales experience. I felt I did even better the second time and thought I nailed it, but again, I didn't get the position because someone else had more sales experience. It makes me wonder why they had me apply again if my experience hadn't changed in 6 months.
- What are your thoughts on being a team player?
Software Developer
After I applied, a recruiter reached out to schedule an initial phone call. During the call, we discussed my resume and my previous work experience. The recruiter then invited me for an in-person interview. This interview involved the software development manager, the director of eCommerce, and a Sr. Software Developer. They mostly asked me behavioral questions and asked me to present some of my previous projects. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. They finished the interview by giving me a tour of the office.
- Can you share some of the difficulties you encountered while developing this software and explain how you overcame them?
