I had an issue with the initial online job application submission, it gave a 'Run Time Error.' I was able to email them directly, and an HR person confirmed my application was received. Even though Ulteig's main office is in Fargo, ND, this role is based in their Fridley, MN office. The HR representative in Fridley scheduled an in-person meeting with the hiring manager at their office. In a conference room, I met with the hiring manager and the HR representative. He explained their current business challenges and the reasons for growing the Project Manager department. They asked behavior-based questions, and I had prepared stories. The HR person seemed sleepy because the room was hot, which I asked about later. Near the end, the hiring manager left, and the HR representative gave me their benefits information. I was one of 2-3 finalists. The next day, I got an automated email saying they hired someone else who was a better fit. It's strange they give out benefits info to candidates they don't intend to hire.

I put in my application online. It took about 6 weeks to hear back, but I found out later why. My future manager reached out to me personally. We had a pretty detailed phone interview. The very next day, HR got in touch to schedule a video interview for the following week. After that long phone chat, I got an offer within two weeks and took it. It was a really nice process.
