I was reached out to for this role. Once I expressed interest, their poor communication was quite misleading. The whole experience left a bad impression, as I believe I was a strong candidate. It's discouraging when hiring decisions seem to be based on personal feelings rather than business sense.

It was pretty laid back and I felt comfortable. They asked about my past jobs, how I'd handle specific scenarios, and if I'd used their products or services before. The manager was really encouraging and took the time to answer everything I asked. I applied online and got a call the next day. They went over the job duties and what would be expected of me. We also talked about my work schedule.

The whole interview took about six months. I spoke with the district manager multiple times, had a phone call with HR, and met with two other store managers for interviews. The interviews themselves were pretty standard for retail management roles. I was initially told I'd be a General Manager, but the offer letter came back stating Assistant Store Manager. It was a bummer since I'd spent half a year on this and planned to move. But I took the job anyway. Having 13 years of experience, I felt I was treated like a kid once I started. It was a bad experience.
