Senior Project Manager
It was a great interview process! Super informative right from the start. First, there was a phone screen with the talent acquisition partner who gave me all the details about the job. Then, about a week after that, I had an interview with the director and hiring manager for the role.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- Describe your approach to managing a project remotely.
- What would you say are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
Project Manager
The first interview was the standard questions about my background and what I'm interested in. The second interview was really weird though. The hiring manager asked a bunch of technical questions for a project manager job. Then, they kept asking about previous client systems and IT stuff. They didn't talk much about project management itself or my actual experience. I'm not even sure what the point of that interview was. I honestly didn't think I'd get past that round even though I'm qualified. It was a bummer because the interview could've been way better if we'd actually talked about project management.
- In terms of a client's system, how would you approach resolving a technical problem?
- Regarding the back end of a system, what kind of data would you typically interact with?
- On a daily basis, would you be directly involved in assisting clients with technical issues?
Project Manager
The interview was from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm at their downtown Indianapolis office. About 20 people were there, interviewing for PM, summer internships, and application consultant roles. Half the team interviewed with Practice Managers while the others watched a presentation about Kronos culture and benefits. Then we switched. After one-on-one interviews, we formed teams of three or four. We brought our computers and spent two hours creating a solution and a powerpoint presentation to present to leadership and other interviewees. They provided food and it was a really fun experience. I was comfortable after meeting the staff and starting the project.
- What motivates you to want to work at Kronos?
- Can you share an instance from school where you had to handle a challenging coworker or teammate?
