Graduate Student Researcher
My experience was a bit different than most other incoming graduate students from other institutions. I worked for my advisor as an undergraduate and I continued and expanded upon my undergraduate research for my Master's thesis. Most prospective graduate students are flown in and meet with the graduate advisor to see if there is a good fit between student/advisor and possible research projects. Then the student usually meets other graduate students over drinks, a very low key affair.
