Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UBS.
Client Advisor
The interview process was pretty structured and professional, really showing the bank's focus on compliance, client service, and all those regulatory things. First, there was an HR screening where we talked about my background, why I wanted the job, and what I was looking for. Then, I had technical interviews with the hiring manager. We dove into AML/KYC knowledge, how I handle clients, and some practical scenarios that fit the role.
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
Consultant
First, there was a 15-30 minute chat with basic background questions. Then, a 60-minute CV-based interview via video. After that, a 60-minute case interview, also by video. Another 60-minute CV-based interview followed via video. Finally, a video interview with the Head of UK for Internal Consulting, focusing on fit questions.
- Can you tell us why you are interested in UBS?
- What's your motivation for pursuing an internal consulting role?
- What is your reasoning for changing jobs?
Consultant
The interview process had poor communication and interaction, and it took a very long time to schedule in-person discussions, which stretched out the process. They should use better interview techniques, processes, and profile evaluation to get better offers and hires, as the same points carried forward into future discussions. They could also move forward without certain details instead of making the process complicated.
