First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UBS.
Business Analyst
I went through the first step of the interview process for a job at UBS. The first part was a video interview that was recorded, where I had to answer questions within a time limit and there was no one live talking to me. The questions were mostly about financial markets, like stocks and what's happening in the market right now. I didn't get past this stage.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment at UBS?
Business Analyst
The interview process at UBS Zurich was super efficient and well-organized. It had a few parts: first, an HR call to see if I was a fit, then a technical interview that really dug into business analysis skills, and finally, a meeting with senior management. They made it clear what each part was about, and the interviewers were really professional and kept me engaged. Everything flowed well and they got back to me quickly, so it was a good experience overall.
- Can you walk me through a difficult project where you analyzed complex data and then had to present your findings to stakeholders?
Business Analyst
So I had this interview, and it was kinda frustrating. They called me in for a Senior Business Analyst role, but it turns out they'd already rejected my application before this. Then, after interviewing me, they rejected me again because they'd already hired someone else and I was apparently just a formality to meet some minimum candidate count. The interview itself involved the usual intro, then questions about FX basics like spot and T+3 contracts, what influences FX rates, and how trades are executed. They also asked about system design, specifically how their reconciliation, risk management, and trade balancing systems function. It was pretty irritating given the whole situation.
- Can you give me your elevator pitch?
- Do you have questions about basic FX?
- What's a spot contract?
