Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at uBreakiFix.
Repair Technician
The first interview was a Zoom call, and it went really well; they actually told me I was a high-value candidate. The second interview took over a month to get scheduled because the manager messed up and listed me as looking for part-time work, even though I explicitly told her I wanted full-time.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Repair Technician
The interview took place in the back room of a storefront where two employees were working on electronics. The managers had to look around to find me a chair, and I felt it would have been better if the interview was in a private office so we could have a proper conversation. They asked me about my past work experience and how it helped me grow. The two managers didn't seem to have prepared any questions and were making them up as they went along, asking each other for ideas multiple times. At the end, they just got up and wished me a nice day before returning to their tasks, leaving me to awkwardly show myself out from the back workspace.
- Can you share a key learning from your past job and explain how it applies to repairing electronics?
- Have you worked on repairing phones or other electronic devices before?
- What do you enjoy doing in your free time, and what are your hobbies?
Repair Technician
I had an interview with the owner, and then I had to tear down an iPhone 6s and rebuild it back together, and the device should turn on and work fine.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience and your knowledge of computers and phones?
- Can you take apart an iPhone 6s and put it back together so that it turns on and works correctly?
