Technical Artist
I applied for the Technical Artist position at Ubisoft Da Nang. The process involved two interviews, one with a recruiter and another with a manager, plus a 6-day take-home test. The interviews went well and my test results were positive. While the interviewers were polite and friendly, they seemed a bit rushed. They said I'd hear back in about 14 work days, but the recruiter didn't follow up. I reached out twice, and the recruiter mentioned they were looking for someone with specific skill X for this project, noting the job description had changed multiple times. She also mentioned another technical artist role but was unsure of the requirements and asked me to wait for an official announcement. I asked about doing an additional test, hoping for an update, but was ultimately ghosted. It felt very unprofessional.
- How would you handle a situation where the job is not challenging enough or too easy?
- What steps would you take if you had limited support from your team and lacked technical guidance from colleagues?
Technical Artist
This was for an internship. It was a pretty standard process with 2 stages: HR and lead artists. I got through both stages easily but then got ghosted during the final phase.
- Can you describe how you approach solving a common technical artist problem?
Technical Artist
I had an hour-long phone interview and it went well. The interviewer started by giving a quick overview of the job description, then asked me about myself and my past work. They'll ask if you play games and what your favorite Ubisoft titles are. It's fine to admit if you're not a big gamer, as passion for the job and industry is valued. However, you must have a solid understanding of the role you're applying for, as there will be technical questions that you need to answer correctly to advance to the next stage, which is the technical interview.
- Could you tell me a bit about yourself?
- Can you walk me through your experience with a specific internship, work, or project?
- Which piece of your work do you consider your best?
