Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ubisoft.
Talent Acquisition Specialist
It was a 2 stage interview process. First, I had interviews with two HRBPs who asked scenario-based questions. Then, for the second stage, I interviewed with senior managers, specifically the Senior HR Manager and the HR Director.
- How would you handle managing a large number of open vacancies?
Talent Acquisition Specialist
I applied for an internship and had a short initial HR phone call. They asked basic questions about my profile, my experience, and my motivations for joining the company. I got feedback about a week and a half later via a voicemail.
- What interests you about the field of human resources?
- Why are you interested in Ubisoft?
Talent Acquisition Specialist
I've applied for similar roles in the Newcastle team three times. The first time in April 2017, I had a good phone call and was told I'd get an on-site interview later, but eventually got a standard rejection. They said they wanted candidates with industry experience, which I didn't have. I appreciated the reason, but getting a generic message first was disappointing. The second time in October 2018, I was invited for an on-site interview. They asked various questions about talent acquisition and recruiting, some easy, some tough. I liked the office and was hopeful, leaving feeling cautiously optimistic. After three weeks, they hired someone else, which was disappointing but understandable. The most recent time in August 2018, another position opened up. Weeks after applying, I had an initial phone call. After I gave my availability, it went quiet for two weeks. Then I found out they'd already interviewed and selected other candidates. This isn't about not getting picked, as you can't win them all. But the candidate experience needs improvement. Overall, I think my background isn't what they're looking for. If that's the case, I'd prefer it to be addressed openly so I don't waste my time applying again.
- Can you discuss your general hiring process and approach?
- How do you approach diversity & inclusion in hiring?
- What's your experience with overseas hiring?
