First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ubisoft.
QA Tester
Had a short chat with HR. Then a test where I had to play their game and find bugs, plus an English test. After that, a chat with the team leads. Overall, the interviews are quick and basic, but they can take up to a month to get back to you.
- How would you test a room or a bone?
QA Tester
HR reached out about a week after I applied. We had a brief chat, and then I was invited for an in-person testing session. This involved two parts: a game testing exercise (bug hunting) and a separate test, each lasting an hour. About a week later, I was called back for the main interview. It was with two people, one from HR and the QC manager. They were pretty chill and asked me some questions.
- What drives your interest in game development and specifically in testing?
- Could you describe your expectations for this position?
- What are your three main strengths relevant to this role?
QA Engineer
So the interview process for a QA role at Ubisoft usually goes like this: First, HR gives you a call to talk about your background and if you're into the role. Then you get this test thingy, all about reporting bugs, writing test cases, and maybe some logic puzzles. After that, you chat with the QA leads or managers about your experience with tracking bugs, how you test stuff, and if you know anything about game dev. Then you talk to some senior people about fitting in with the team, solving problems, and how much you love games. Lastly, HR does a final interview to talk money, benefits, and all that official stuff.
- Can you explain what DLC means?
