Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at U-Haul.
Software Developer
Started with a recruiter phone call. Then, I got a coding test via email that I had to complete on my own time. After passing that, there was a final interview with multiple people that included more coding problems.
- Can you tell me about the coding challenges?
- Do you have any questions regarding .NET?
- Any questions concerning SQL?
Software Engineer Intern
The first interview involved a 30-minute computer test for IQ and another for personality. Following that, I had a recruiter call where we discussed personality and behavioral questions, and there were quite a few. A couple of days later, I got an email for my second interview. This time, I spoke with someone from the Software Engineering department who told me about U-Haul and his department's work. He asked some questions related to my resume skills, and then inquired about my internship goals and future career aspirations.
- Could you tell me a little about yourself?
- What would you say are your weaknesses?
- What do you hope to gain from this internship experience?
Applications Developer
HR reached out to schedule a face-to-face interview. On the day, I completed a personality, IQ, and skills test. The onsite interview was with the manager and tech lead. They asked about my interest in the company and role, and the tech lead asked some technical questions. The whole thing took about 1.5 hours.
- Tell me about your interest in our company and this specific role.
- Can you answer some technical questions?
