First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tyson & Mendes.
Annonyous
The interviewer was great, very energetic, but the questions asked were too much. It almost felt like an interrogation; they were pretty much asking me to share everything from the previous company I worked for. Didn't like that.
- Tell me about yourself.
Attorney
Super easy interview. Started with a phone call then an in-person meeting. I was upfront about my salary needs via email and phone. But they still offered me $20k under my stated requirements. Total waste of my time.
- Tell me about your previous experience at a law firm.
Associate
The interview process was straightforward and transparent. It started with one screening call, then I met four attorneys in person. It was a good interview process and easy to navigate. I would definitely apply to this law firm again if there was a posting made available.
- Do you want to be a litigator?
Litigation Paralegal
The initial communication was a bit off-putting due to name errors and a voicemail that sounded like the person was eating. However, the job itself seemed interesting, so I continued. The interview process was pretty standard. I first met with the office manager and the paralegal manager. The following week, I interviewed with the attorney I'd be working for, who seemed great and made me eager to join. I got the impression the environment might be better for less experienced, younger professionals, even though they required at least 5 years of experience. Ultimately, the compensation and benefits weren't enough for me to take a step backward in my career, so I declined the offer.
- What aspects of being a paralegal do you enjoy?
