This was by far the worst phone screen/interview out of over twenty in my career. The only good thing was that I had a phone screen scheduled within a week of applying and got my rejection within a week of that, so it was fast. But, the interviewer didn't seem to understand the job at all. She just asked standard questions, nothing about the actual role. When I asked my questions, she couldn't even answer basic things like what skills they wanted, who was involved, or how it would be evaluated. Plus, she kept cutting me off mid-answer to ask a new question. When I asked about skills, she first mentioned 'humility,' which seemed like a dig at me for bragging. Humility isn't a skill, and it felt like a double standard since women talking about accomplishments is seen as bragging, while men get jobs for it. I knew I wouldn't get the job after the call, but I was polite in my rejection email and asked for feedback, which I never got. I don't mind being rejected if I'm not a good fit, but it's a waste of time when the interviewer is bad. I won't apply here again and advise others to avoid it.

The interview process was really good, they even flew me into York. It included a mix of programming challenges and questions about my fit with the team and culture, which was great because the team and culture seem really good. It wasn't as intimidating as I expected, but it was still a good challenge!

It was a pretty typical technical interview, mostly about graph algorithms and general problem-solving. They asked about traversal, connectivity, and edge cases. Good communication and logical thinking were really important.
