Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Twitch.
Manager
The interview process moved quickly, which was good. Both phone interviews, one with the recruiter and one with the hiring manager, seemed to go well. I was excited to get an email on Friday saying they wanted me to come in for in-person interviews the following week. However, on Monday, instead of getting an email with the interview details, I was told they were canceling the interviews because they had already extended an offer to someone else. This was unprofessional because they sent that email on Friday, implying they wanted to move forward, when they had already decided. I would have preferred to know they were moving forward with another candidate rather than getting my hopes up with scheduling next steps and then having it canceled. It felt like they weren't organized.
- Can you tell me about your background?
Communication Manager
I applied online and heard from the recruiter about a week later. The recruiter confirmed a phone screen, but then didn't show up for the call. I followed up, and they rescheduled for later that week. The call was 30 minutes and included questions about my relevant experience. The recruiter mentioned an update within a week, but I never heard back to wrap things up. The whole communication process felt unprofessional and unorganized.
- Can you share an instance where you took the initiative to generate media coverage for a business objective?
Policy Manager
I had an initial phone screen. They gave me some background on Twitch and their new offerings. Then, they asked general questions about how my experience fits the role and some questions to identify my technical skills. The next step would have been with the hiring manager.
- Can you tell me about your technical skills in relation to Twitch?
