First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Twist Bioscience.
Research Associate
Had a couple of initial phone calls with the recruiter and the hiring manager. Then, I went to HQ for about 5 or 6 technical interviews. These were all one-on-one with scientists and lasted about 30 minutes each. It finished with lunch.
- Could you detail the steps in library preparation?
Research Associate
The overall interview process went well. HR was very responsive. I reached the final round and met with both junior and senior team members, which I felt showed an open company culture. It would have been helpful if they had shared the questions beforehand, as I found myself repeating the same answers throughout the day. However, given it was an all-day interview, this is somewhat expected.
- Can you share an instance where you had to troubleshoot an issue?
Research Associate
Had a 30 min casual phone screening. They asked general HR questions about relocation, start date, and salary expectations. The HR person first explained the role and then asked me about skills related to the role and some behavioral questions. They ghost you if you don't proceed.
- Could you tell me about your most important technical skill that is relevant for this role?
- What do you know about antibodies?
