& Process

The process started with an online application with typical questions like asking why I want to work for T&T. Next, I had a video interview with more standard questions, such as why I'm interested in the construction industry, how I'd spend downtime between projects, and how I stay updated on knowledge. Following that, I attended an assessment day in London with about 25 other applicants, which had three parts. First was a Group Exercise where 5 of us had to choose 4 projects out of 10 to recommend to a client based on their needs and budget, with 30 minutes for discussion and a 5-minute presentation of our choices to three assessors. Second, I had a Presentation, prepared a week in advance on a topic like the construction labor gap, though they seemed more interested in research and presentation skills than the content. The Q&A included questions like how I'd manage a project differently and how to communicate with different stakeholders. This was followed by a discussion where we were expected to share our thoughts on their policies and develop ideas. Third, there was a Final Interview with two Directors, featuring standard questions about strengths, leadership qualities, reasons for choosing the construction industry, and conflict resolution examples.

Had a video interview where I had 30 seconds to prepare. It was a one-way recorded interview. They asked situational judgement questions, but no motivational ones. I had to research the company and think about how to handle work situations. This was the second stage.

This was my first time interviewing like this, and it was in person. I got an email a week before with all the interview details, including how it would go and the start time. The interview had two parts. First, I had to give a 10-minute presentation about one of their projects (either ongoing or completed in the last 5 years), followed by 15 minutes of Q&A about my presentation. Then, there was a virtual scenario to see how I'd react on the spot without prep. The second part was a technical interview, which went great for me. I showed them all my experience and proved I have the potential they're looking for, maybe even more.
