Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Turner and Townsend.
Senior Consultant
I went through a three-stage interview process. First, there was a screening by the recruiting team. Then, I had two interviews with the management team. The questions were fair and appropriately challenging. The interviewers were professional and pleasant. However, after the final interview, I got ghosted. I reached out to recruiting via email but never got feedback or a follow-up. It felt like a waste of time and effort. It raises concerns about professionalism and respect for candidates. A disappointing experience.
- The questions were fair and appropriately challenging, aligning well with the role and the job description.
Junior Consultant
I applied online, did a standard cv form filling exercise with some basic questions like why T&T?. Then came online assessments, which were behavioural questions only so no preparation was needed. Then a video interview. It had competency and motivational questions. I had limited prep time of 30 seconds and only one chance to record my answer. Finally, an assessment day. It had three parts: a group exercise, an interview, and a presentation. Then I got the offer.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in T&T?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
- Could you walk me through your CV?
Consultant
It was a negative experience overall. The first round was a recruiter call where they asked about my general experience and salary expectations. I stated my expected salary, and they said expectations would be met if I cleared the interview. The second round was an online interview with general situation-based questions and questions about my technical experience, followed by an assignment. The third round involved presenting the assignment. After that, I was told I had the offer and was again asked about my salary expectations. The offer was less than my current salary, which was a shock. About 30 days later, they called again saying they still wanted me and were ready to offer a 4% raise over my current salary. I initially said no, but then called back and was ready to accept. I had to meet the directors again on a call, and then they ghosted me, and I still haven't heard back for over 15 days.
- Tell me about your general experience and what were your salary expectations?
- Given a situation, how would you handle it and can you describe your technical experience?
- Present your assignment.
