Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tumi.
Sales Associate
I applied online and then had a face-to-face interview with the Store in-charge, followed by an interview with the Area Manager. The entire process took about a month. It felt more like a friendly chat than a formal interview, which made for a really good experience throughout.
- What is your knowledge about Tumi?
Sales Associate
I was called for an interview and then had an in-person interview with the assistant manager for about 30 minutes where I was asked general interview questions. After that, I interviewed with the manager, who asked common interview questions like 'who you are' and about my past working experience, as well as behavioral questions. It was a nice experience, and I was offered the job. They also mentioned they have a dental plan and the working environment is pleasant.
- Can you tell me more about yourself?
Sales Associate
I walked into the store and was told to wait in the back room because they were busy. The back room was small and also used for stock. The interview itself was pretty easy. They asked questions about my resume and we chatted about my traveling. Then, I was told I would get an email for a background check. About a day later, I got an email saying my conditional job offer was taken back because of my credit.
- Could you do a role-playing exercise?
- Do you think you could grab 4 pieces of luggage from the back, here are the SKUs?
- Were there any difficult questions?
