Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tulane University.
Graduate Student
It was pretty easy, the hard part is the application so whatever you do you need to make sure that you focus on the application process or you won't even make it to the interview.
- Why did you choose Tulane?
Graduate Student
I interviewed with three different faculty members. We mostly talked about my motivation for joining Tulane, my prior research background, and my aspirations in research. I also had to present my research as a formal proposal, covering its justification, hypothesis, experimental setup, findings, and interpretation.
- What makes you want to pursue a career in research?
Graduate Assistant
It was pretty easy, with two rounds conducted over Zoom. The questions were standard. Everyone I spoke with was really nice and made me feel comfortable. Being personable is key for this role.
- Can you tell me more about yourself?
