The interview with the PI was pretty chill, mostly a chat about living in New Orleans and the lab's projects. It felt like they wanted me to lead the discussion and ask the questions.

I found the job on an online ad and HR called me to set up an interview. Before the actual interview, there was a computer-based test to complete. After the HR interview, which went really well, I met with the Facilities Supervisor. That also went well, and they mentioned that based on my skills, they might combine two roles at different locations into one Manager position, which would fit my salary needs. However, it's been 5 months since then, and despite trying to contact the Facilities Supervisor and the HR person multiple times, I haven't heard back from anyone. This is quite different from what the HR person promised, as they said I'd be kept in the loop regardless of the outcome.

To get a job here, you submit an online application. Recruiters filter out applications that don't meet requirements and send the rest to the hiring department. After that, the interview process can vary. I got a call and had a quick informal phone interview. Then I had two face-to-face interviews with different people from the department each time. Both were informal but professional. They talked a lot about what they wanted done in the role. It was tough because there were many other candidates.
