Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tuesday Morning.
Sales Associate
The interview process was very easy. They mainly asked about my retail experience and how I would handle customer issues, emphasizing the importance of staying calm and de-escalating situations.
- What would you do if a customer wanted to return an item without a receipt, especially if you didn't see them bring it into the store?
Sales Associate
This was the weirdest interview ever. I showed up and there was only one employee working. He was busy with customers, and I had to wait like 20 minutes before he even acknowledged me. We never went to the back room or anything, and he just kinda glanced at my resume while he was ringing people up. It wasn't really an interview, but after about five minutes he asked a few basic questions. Then he said he'd hire me pending a background check.
- Are you available to work on Wednesdays, as this is mandatory for truck day?
- What is the distance between your residence and the store location?
Sales Associate
I sent in my application online. About three weeks later, I got a call back for an interview. Since I applied for a role at a new store that was still being set up, the interview was actually held at a different store location. It felt like it went pretty well, although I was a bit nervous because the manager and assistant manager were there, and there were two other people interviewing too. The whole thing lasted around 20 minutes, which wasn't too long. Overall, it was a decent experience.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Describe a situation where you dealt with an upset customer.
- Have you ever had to juggle multiple tasks when asked to do different things?
