I went through the IB Bootcamp. It was pretty simple. It was a 15-30 min zoom call and then I got an offer. They asked me why Houston, about my interest in O&G, and questions about my resume.

TPH opened a resume drop with my university's career center. After dropping my resume, I was contacted for a phone interview. Several days later I was invited to Houston for their super day. The super day consisted of 8, mostly 2-1, interviews with lunch in the middle. It seems as though most of the bankers in the office were involved in the interviews. Bobby Tudor was one round of the interview process.

Technical Case

This firm's interview process was pretty much all about fit, actually. I had way more coffee chats with them than anyone else. There was a standard modeling test, and then a super day at their office. The team and culture seem awesome; I'd totally apply again if I saw another opening.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you explain how to value an Oil and Gas asset?
  • What's the difference between a NAV model and a DCF model?
  • What are the reasons a Permian asset might be valued differently than a Baaken one?
