Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TSC Apparel.
Business Development Associate
Had a quick phone chat about my background and the job. Then there was a personality test where you're supposed to always prioritize sales/business. The first in-person interview was with the recruiter, who explained the role, asked about my background, and gave me a tour. They asked a couple of questions about why I'm interested in sales. Then I had a second in-person interview where I shadowed a BD Associate and a BD Specialist. After that, I met with two managers and answered questions from a worksheet. Overall, it was a comfortable interview process.
- Why are you interested in sales?
- What has been your greatest accomplishment?
- Can you describe yourself using five adjectives?
Business Development Associate
The interview process involved three interviews. Initially, there was a phone call, followed by an HR interview, and finally, an interview with the sales department. The tone was professional at the start but became somewhat distant by the end. After the third interview, I was informed I would receive an update by the end of that week. However, I had to contact them a week later to follow up. They then took two days to send a rejection email. While I understand I may not have been the most qualified candidate, it's poor form to leave people waiting, especially when the entire hiring process took a month.

First they give you a quick call after they get your application. Then you'll get a test, and it can be tough because whether you get a second interview depends on how you do. Big tip: always prioritize the business. After that, they might call you in to shadow both a BDA and a BDS, and then you'll have another interview with management. Once you leave, management will chat about what they thought and what they want to do next. If you land the job, they'll call you in a few days.
- Can you tell me how you found out about this opening?
- What made you decide to apply for this particular role?
- In what ways do you believe you can contribute to this position?
