Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TruGreen.
Sales Associate
First, I had a virtual one-on-one with a nice TruGreen rep. They told me about the company and what the job entails. Then they asked about my background, experience, and if I was really interested in the role.
- What makes you a strong candidate for this position?
Sales Associate
I met with a manager who was dressed casually, not business attire. They mostly read from a script and didn't really elaborate on answers. The job was advertised as more inside sales, but when I got there, they said it's actually the opposite, more of an outside, door-to-door type of role. The pay wasn't great either.
- What makes you want to join Trugreen?
- How do you feel about making cold calls and working outside even when the weather is bad?
Sales Associate
The interview had 2 rounds, one with the Sales Manager and another with the Branch Sales Manager. The Sales Manager asked most of the questions, around 20. The whole process took over an hour and 10 minutes. We had a good conversation and they offered me the job on the spot, but I asked for some time to consider.
- Can you share an instance where you had to deal with a difficult situation involving your manager?
- Describe a negative workplace experience you've had.
- How effective are you at upselling?
