Customer Service Representative
TruGreen recruiter contacted me after I applied. The job listing said it was in a town nearby, but it turned out to be further away than I thought. I had an interview with the location manager and they offered me the job the same day, which I accepted. What bothered me was the poor communication. I wasn't told the pay rate or the work hours. I was told to wait for an email with instructions for my first day, which would be remote due to Covid-19, but I didn't get it the day before I was supposed to start. This made it impossible to prepare and make sure I had the necessary tools. When I followed up, I was told I'd get an email by 3pm? That's a really short time to get ready to work the next morning. I turned down the job for another offer I had while waiting for emails from TruGreen. I'm sure it's a good company, but the bad communication right from the start made me feel uneasy and worried.
- Can you work remotely?
Customer Service Representative
Found the position on indeed. Applied with my resume and within 24 hours was contacted via text asking when to set up a phone call by a recruiter. Set up phone call for following day. Answered a few questions and was invited to a virtual interview via Microsoft teams. Which was a video meeting. The interview was me and the recruiter as well as the location supervisory he supervisor remained quiet with camera off only the recruiter was asking the questions. At the conclusion of the interview was told they would discuss it and give me a call with their decision. About 10 to 15 minutes after that got a call from recruiter telling I was given an offer of employment
- Tell me about a time you had to handle a difficult customer and how you managed the situation.
Customer Service Representative
I applied online and then got a call to schedule an interview. When I got to the office, I saw there were only 2 desks set up. Ms. Lisa Netro, who was new to recruiting, made the interview really fun and informative. She was building a new team and needed to fill 13 spots. After some questions, we did a role-play where I acted as the customer service rep and she was the caller. I sent a follow-up email thanking her and answering her Twinkie question. She emailed me back, and I got the job offer the next day!
- What's your theory on how Twinkies get their filling?
