Business Development Representative
They make you go through multiple rounds but I found it annoying they couldn't communicate their decision in email. All decisions were made on a phone call. Interviews are easy, your basic generic background questions nothing crazy. They made me call them back to reject me over the phone, then I get a call back the next day saying I got the job. I still accepted to try it out, but get it together.
- Can you detail your previous sales experience?
Product Marketing Senior
The reviews make a lot of sense. In just two interviews this came off as a poorly managed company. In the first meeting with the recruiter, the first thing out of his mouth is: yes, it’s true we’ve done some layoffs. Okay… Meeting with the hiring director was only 30 minutes. Additionally, if I hadn’t written down the director’s name when speaking to the recruiter I wouldn’t have known because there was nothing but a Teams link in the meeting invite. Director asked really arbitrary follow up questions that assumed I wasn’t a professional even though I had more experience than she did. (Ex; how do you let stakeholders know there’s been a date change?). I didn’t bother with a follow up email because I was no longer interested and didn’t know anyone’s email anyway. Recruiter called a couple of days later which was also odd.
- Can you tell me about your background?
Sales Representative
I was so excited to get an interview with Truckstop, especially after seeing posts about them giving people chances. I loved their values and focus on teamwork. The recruiter said I made a lasting impression and was looking forward to more interviews. However, the hiring manager said I didn't have enough software sales experience, even though I have an extensive sales career with experience in customer retention, solution selling, and software selling. I feel like I checked all the boxes and am good at what I do, which deserved at least a conversation. But, I thank the recruiter for the great conversation. It's their loss if they don't want me.
- Can you describe your experience?
Customer Success Manager
The interview process overall was very smooth and moved along quickly. There were 4 interviews in all beginning with the recruiter and ending with the Sr. VP. Every interview felt like they cared about me as a person, not just my experience or my resume. Sure there were previous experience questions but the interviews felt like a concern rather than an interrogation. This left me with the feeling that I wanted to be a part of this company. Once an interview was complete the recruiter informed me of the next steps in a very timely manner, and when an offer was made it was communicated quickly as well. This took a lot of the stress out of the overall process.
- Can you share an instance where you had to address a customer's need with a product or service they weren't currently using? Did you find it challenging to persuade them of its necessity for a solution?
