Applied and then waited over 6 months to hear back. Had a phone interview with the search committee, which was good and gave me a sense they'd be good colleagues. Was then invited for an on-campus interview where I met with the department chair, associate dean, vice chancellor, chancellor, and interim dean. An offer came quickly after the campus visit, likely because the semester was starting soon and they needed to fill the role immediately. It seems that once you're invited for the campus interview, the job is yours unless someone has a strong negative reaction.

To move between divisions, the process involved a phone panel. A background check is also required for any cross-divisional moves now. When I first interviewed from the outside, I sent in my CV and transcripts, then presented to faculty (like a conference). After that, I presented to admin leaders in Troy. Then, I waited for the offer. The process at TROY is pretty informal, and most people involved like to chat about things casually. Building rapport is key, so don't seem too academic or out of touch, as that can be a turn-off.

The overall interview experience was generally positive. The camaraderie amongst the faculty was very apparent and the campus was beautiful. However, I was asked several personal questions like whether or not I have kids and if I am religious or not. I was told that I would have been offered the position, but due to "budget constraints" the position was rescinded. What a let down.

I applied in May and was contacted in late June for an interview. It was a pretty laid-back first interview. Then, I had a second interview which involved a presentation and sales pitch I prepared for the manager. I ended up starting in October. I thought it was going to be a marketing role, but it turned out to be intense sales with no commission.
