I applied for this role via pool campus placements. The pool campus included 11 colleges from Bangalore, and I'm from RNSIT, EEE. Both Mechanical and Electrical branches were eligible. The entire process had 4 rounds. First was a computer-based assessment with 85 electrical engineering questions and 15 aptitude questions. For EEE candidates, after the CBA, we were directly sent to the Technical interview, skipping the Group Discussion. The Technical interview covered my projects and basic electrical engineering concepts. The final round was an interview at the main plant of Triveni Turbine Limited in Bangalore, where 6 interviewers assessed candidates. This final round included technical, managerial, and HR questions.

It was an open campus recruitment. It began online with about 1200 students participating throughout the day in batches. The top 4 students from each batch were directly selected for technical interviews. The next 20-30 students were selected for an Extempore round. I wasn't lucky enough to get a direct interview, so I had to go through the Extempore round, which I cleared. After that, I got the chance to appear for the Technical interview. Over 60 students were interviewed in the following 3 days by experienced technocrats from the firm, with each interview lasting about 45 minutes on average. Finally, a list of 10 students was shortlisted for the final HR interview at the main headquarters in Bangalore.

The first round was a CBT with 90 technical and 10 aptitude questions, followed by 3 rounds of behavioral tests. From 42 candidates, 22 were selected, and the top 10 of those went directly to the technical round. If CBT was in the morning, the GD (Group Discussion) was in the afternoon; otherwise, it was the next day. There were 12 students in my GD, and 6 were selected. The top 10 from CBT skipped GD. This was for my region, but there are other regions too. After 4-5 days, there was a technical round via Zoom. The top 10 had one interviewer, while others had different ones. The final round was in Bangalore, with travel and hotel provided. This round involved technical questions, especially about the final year project. The interview was 10-20 min for electrical and 20+ min for mechanical. They are mostly looking for mechanical engineers (11 out of 17 selected) compared to electrical (7 out of 13). They want to see quality and your ability to prove it in this round. It also depends on the HR's mood. My panel had 7 people, with one leading the conversation, one for technical, and the rest observing. They take your marksheet at the offer letter stage. Salary is fixed, so no salary expectation questions are asked.
