First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Trimble.
User Experience Designer
The interview experience was great, mostly discussing my design projects and how they showcased my skills. Then, I had 15 minutes to think about a design problem, sketching out my ideas and workflow. After that, about 3 days later, an HR phone call happened where they asked basic questions. It was a good experience overall, though waiting for the results took a bit too long.
- Can you design the user experience for a child learning 3D modeling?
- What do you think is the best medium for this, and what scenarios can you imagine for it?
User Experience Designer
HR called to confirm my info and book the interview. Then I had an interview with the HR and UX manager. After that there was a test and I met the team. Then there was a reference check. I only got to the design task stage, so I'm not sure what comes next.
- What is your motivation for joining Timble?
- Would you describe yourself as proactive?
- Have you experienced stress in a work environment before?
User Experience Designer
First, there was a pre-screening call with a secretary who asked some easy questions. Then, I had an interview with the manager, where they asked more standard questions. Finally, I met with the manager again, along with some of the team. Everyone was really nice and easy to chat with. I wore a shirt and tie, but I don't think business casual would have been an issue.
- What would you do if you had a deadline approaching in a week and realized you definitely couldn't meet it?
