Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Trent & Company.
Account Executive
The whole interview process was really great. I first spoke with a really nice person who then introduced me to two other team members. I had a wonderful time talking with everyone and learning about the company. I truly wish things had worked out so we could have negotiated because I was really excited about the possibility of joining the team.
- How many accounts are you currently managing?
Account Executive
Had a quick phone chat about my background, like the clients I've had, and my experience with brands and lifestyle PR. Then, I was asked to come in for an in-person interview.
- Tell me about your experience with products, brands, and lifestyle PR.
- Can you discuss the types of clients you've worked with previously?
- How did you feel about making a lot of calls to editors and reporters?
Account Executive
This was the most disorganized interview I had ever been to. I interviewed with a senior and junior employee, both of which were completely unprepared and a bit socially awkward. It felt as if they found out they were interviewing me five minutes before I arrived. I essentially had to lead the interview while they sat there staring blankly saying "Uhhh... let me think of something else to ask". So awkward. The disorganization is also reflected heavily in the office space - this is not an "airy Soho loft" - it's a cluttered office with minimal natural light. The receptionists desk is cluttered by boxes and papers and there isn't even sitting room for visitors. I had to stand awkwardly by the door. I was interviewed in a tiny, messy room to which they had to bring chairs into because again, there was no seating space. Overall, it was a depressing atmosphere and I couldn't imagine ever working there. It was a relief to walk out of the office, and after reading the reviews of previous employees, I feel like I really dodged a bullet.
- Could you walk me through your resume?
